10:30 A.M - PREPARED SPEECH SESSION
TM Kamal started his speech by saying that rewards,
salary and grades motivate us. More the reward, more the motivation is. Work can
be done by two ways – mundane and cognitive skills. Mundane is the algorithmic
way of doing work, whereas cognitive skills are the core skills which our brain
uses to think, read, learn, and pay attention. Working together, we take
incoming information and move it into the bank of knowledge we use every day at
work and in life. He concluded his speech by speaking about autonomy, mastery
and purpose.
TM Bharthi started her speech by saying that her parents had
strived hard to make her life better before she came into this world and
continued to do that till their last breath. The sacrifices they made for her
is innumerable. Parents spend money to fulfill all the kid’s needs right from
childhood. They provide the best education possible and sometimes go beyond
their limits to give kids better opportunities. Her parents put her in an English
medium school and she found it so difficult to pick up the language. Later, in her
early childhood days, she became the ‘Head girl’ of her school and had mastered
the language. Then, she completed her CA with good percentage and now a proud Cognizant
employee.
DTM Saro started his speech by saying that a
few months back, he visited Wayanad along with his family. It is a beautiful
tourist place which is situated in between the mesmerizing Mysore and the
overpowering Ooty. They took a train to Calicut and then rented a van to reach
Wayanad. The ride from Calicut to Wayanad was filled with scenic locations… they
looked like inverted ice cream cones and the trees were painted in fresh green
by Mother Nature. He concluded his speech saying that they visited many places
in Wayanad but Edakkal caves remains as a longlasting memory because it a place
where one can get a spectacular view of the mountain junction of the states of
Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
TM Rajesh started his speech by
narrating a small story about two contrasting characters Vignesh and Venkatesh.
Vignesh is an extraordinary student and his father earns 30,000rupees per
month. But, Venkatesh is poor in studies and comes from a poor backround. He was
a Telugu boy and found difficult to converse in English and did part time job of
delivering newspapers to households. He did not score good marks in his 10th
and 12th grade but learnt English by delivering newspaper. But on
the other hand, Vignesh secured high marks and got placed in NIT, Trichy and
pursued M.B.A in U.S. Venkatesh’s dad took loan and made his son a B.A
graduate. Finally, he became salesman in IBM and a trainer in chief for Vignesh
at Blue chip companies. He concluded his speech saying that “Life is 10% what
happens to you and 90%how you react to it.
