The 262^nd Chennai Speaker Forum meeting kick started on 30th July’17, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

Meeting started at 10 am on a fresh note.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS FOR MEETING.

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms TM Nagaraju, who explained the mission and vision of Toastmaters and introduced the Presiding Officer TM Shriram.

10.05 A.M. PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS.

President TM Shriram declares the meeting open and delivers the address

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

Presiding officer TM Shriram introduced the TMOD – TM Thiagarajan, who announced the Theme and word of the day.

Theme of the day was – “Be confident, but not overconfident"

Word of the day was - Aplomb

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

TMOD introduced the General Evaluator for the meet, TM Satish Kumar, who explained his role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Grammarian – TM Akshay Ramachandran

Ah Counter – TM Nataraj

Timer – TM Swathi

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

We had three exciting speakers attempting their prepared speech exercise from the project manuals.

1) TM Vivek Mishra was the first speaker for the day, he attempted the icebreaker speech titled "The Next Best Thing".

2) TM Archana Gopal gave a speech titled - "The effective salesperson" for her 1st Project in the ACB Manual.

3) TM Rajen Menon spoke on "A tryst with destiny" for the 5th Project in the ACG Manual.

10:50 A.M. – TABLE TOPIC SESSION

TMOD introduced the Table Topics Master TM Farhan, who took control of the table topics session, where he called upon everyone who attended the meet for impromptu speaking , including the guests.

Few general topics were as below:         

1)  Confidence comes from discipline and training
2)  Sports do not build character but reveal it.
3)  In what situation is lying a good idea?
4)  Sometimes overconfidence can be viewed as arrogance.
5)  Confidence is contagious and having a lack of confidence is also contagious.
6)  Who has been the most influential person in your life?
7)  If you could be anyone else who would you be?
8)  Media controls what we think.
9) To be grown up is a state of mind.
10) All you need is ignorance and confidence and success is yours.
11) Just be yourself and be courageous.
