MEETING ENGAGEMENT REPORT


10:00 A.M - SAA CALLS FOR MEETING
SAA, TM FAISAL, opened the meeting, explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters. TM FAISAL then handed over the control to the Presiding officer TM Selvan.

10:02 A.M PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS
Presiding officer, TM Selvan started his presidential address by saying that he couldn't accompany his wife's train journey. As an over enthusiastic husband he dropped his wife at the railway station. His wife exclaimed! How excited he was in sending her out of Chennai. All intelligence are questioned ,with this he started meeting no 219.

10:07 A.M PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD
Presiding officer, TM Selvan introduced the TMOD, TM SIDHARTH. TM SIDHARTH introduced the theme "Work Smart Rather Than Hard" and the word of the day "ASTUTE". TM SIDHARTH then explained the various segments in a Toastmasters meeting.

Word of the Day : 'ASTUTE'
Meaning : Practical hardheaded intelligence, sharp, shrewd.
Theme of the day : Work Smart Rather Than Hard

10:13 A.M GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION
The TMOD, TM SIDHARTH, then handed over the control to the General Evaluator, TM Unnikrishnan. He told that this meeting with him as general evaluator will have constructive criticism which will make us a better speaker. He then requested the TAG team, to brief the objectives of their roles.

TM Pranav started his speech by saying that "Yet another Journey" to CSF. He was the second child to his parents and has an elder brother pursuing medicine. He completed his schooling at DAV in Gopalapuram and now currently doing his 2nd year CSE at Venkateswara College of Engineering. He had unusual hobbies like collecting currency and he is interested in writing algorithms. In his 8th grade, he participated in a quiz competition conducted by CNBC and represented for the south zone. The competition became a draw and he won a mac book.

TM Sriram started his speech by asking the audience to imagine him sitting in his Principal room, Sibhi, his friend thought him the art of copying and he invented under-book copying theorem. Eventually, he became the Guru of copying and carried out copying in an organized way and made sure that his paper passes even to the remote places of the class room. In his 10th Quarterly exam, he visualized himself getting caught for copying. During his 3rd exam (maths) , his visual came true. His mother looked at him with shame. Tears rolled down from her eyes, he promised not to copy for the rest of his life and that one moment changed his entire life. He ended his  speech saying that he became a new version after that incident.

TM Rajesh V started his speech by explaining how Ali Baba's brother Salim lost his life because of forgetting the password. He visited Andaman during the summer vacation in his 9th grade. He wanted to jump into the water of Radha Nagar Beach. The password was wrong and his suitcase did not open. His mother had reset the password and had forgotten it. Sun was going to set but lock didn't open. After 36 hours, he managed to open the lock. In the same way in 2001 he wanted to participate in bicycle Marathon. After much perseverance, he went to the shop to buy a new BSC bi-cycle. But unfortunately, when his mother swiped the card, the machine showed an error message. Next day, Marathon happened without him. He gifted his mother a cross word book to remember the password but she forgot where she kept that book. He concluded his speech by saying that "REMEMBER TO REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD".

  • TM Pranav - If you haven't achieved it yet, what you have to lose.

Presiding Officer adjourned the meeting to the 7th of August 2016 and invited us all for high tea.
