MEETING ENGAGEMENT REPORT




10:00 A.M - SAA CALLS FOR MEETING

SAA, TM Faisal, opened the meeting, explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters. TM Faisal then handed over the control to the Presiding officer TM Vijayaragavan.

10:10 A.M - PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

Presiding officer,TM Vijayaragavan shared with us an interesting message that 'If you give us an idea which is well worthy ,we will give you one million dollar'.This was said by an Industrialist who faced a major slow down in his industry,40% of profit has come down to 20% because of competition.Now the industry has a turnover of two thousand crores for every three months and it has achieved mission impossible by rediscovering it. With this note, TM Vijayaragavan started the meeting #228.

10:15 A.M - PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD


Presiding officer, TM Vijayaragavan introduced the TMOD; TM Basheer. TM Basheer introduced the theme 'Impossible’ and the word of the day ' Impractical '. TM Basheer then explained the various segments in a toastmasters meeting. 



Word of the day:     Impractical 

Meaning:                  Not practical, not workable, realizable

Theme of the day:   Impossible

10:20 A.M - GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION

The TMOD, TM Basheer, then handed over the control to the General Evaluator, TM Sidharth. He told that this meeting with him as general evaluator will have constructive criticism which will make us a better speaker. He then requested the TAG team, to brief the objectives of their roles.

'From 7 tombs to Golconda’


 TM Faisal started his speech by saying that when he was seven years old, he went for a picnic along with his uncle’s family in an ambassador car to 7 tombs. He became tired after playing with his cousins and had tummy filling yummy biriyani for his lunch. This picnic created an everlasting memory in his main memory. A few days back, he jumped from his hostel along with his partner in crime and visited Golconda Fort, garden of diamonds which turned into a golden memory, which is cherish able always.

'Created Yourself’


TM Bharthi started her speech by saying that happiness is what everyone wants and longing for. She was able to work successfully in her office because she woke up every morning with a positive thought. Because of this she gained lots of knowledge and her life was filled with happiness. Relationship, health, work, spending time with people are few things which adds happiness to her life. She concluded saying that if we stop envying about others, happiness will automatically be filled in our life lives.

'Shine’


TM Nandini started her speech by saying that the only way to predict future is to create it. There was a woman tribe in Manipur, she had no moral support but she loved to fight and she fought so hard and got her rights. She is none other than Marry Com. Another example which she quoted was about Dhirubhai Ambani who suffered a lot at his young age but his hard work resulted in the giant entry of ‘Reliance’. KFC was started by Harland David Sanders at the age of 65 and failed 1009 times before succeeding. Faith can move mountains and this was proved by the mountain man Manhji. She concluded her speech by saying that human spirit can handle much more we think.



11:00 A.M –TABLE TOPIC SESSION





An interesting Table Topic session was conducted by TM Vivek. He had a variety of topics which were enjoyed by the audience. The speakers were as follows:

 Are you scared of ghost or not?
  •  She spoke about the movie Chandramuki 
  • The snake in that movie turned out to be a nightmare for her for few days.
  • She has gronwn up but still she believes in ghost.
TT Speaker #2 TM Selvan
Recommend fair & lovely men's cream to men
  • A beautiful girl of the Miss.World has some discrepancy in her appearance or complexion.
  • Your totally confident and your not a normal human being.
  • We think that we are not fair enough like the white people.
  • We want others to believe that we look good and that is the idea of these advertising people.
 TT Speaker #3 TM Sowmya
Girls are difficult to control and eeasy to confuse
  • She disagrees with the topic and speaks against the topic.
  • She thinks that it is impractical.
  • Once upon a time, she boarded a bus to Woodlands hotel and the conductor misunderstood as Woodlands theate.
  • There was an utter confusion and she landed up in a wrong place.

  • Sang a song from the movie "Idharkudhana aasai pattai balakumara"

 Favourite ad and the reason behind it
  • Complan ad is his favourite ad.
  •  The ad potrays his own life where a transition takes place from small boy to a young man.
  TT Speaker #6 Guest Amith 
Which movie you would like to see again and again?
  • The movie which he likes the most and watches often is 3 Idiots.
  • To make a mistake is not a problem but reaching out to people is important.
TT Speaker #7 TM Barthi
What irittates you the most ?
  • Humans depend on everything.
  • We depend on our parents, teachers etc..they are the one who scolds us or irritates us.
  • We need to stand in their foot and think.
  • It all depends on how you take things and replicate it.
TT Speaker #8 TM Sidharth
 If given a chance to date with mythological person? Who will be taht person and why?
  • Guru Dronacharya in Mahabharatham, is a person who knows everything perfectly about the 5 Pandavas and their skills.
  • Ekalaivan is the best of all Dronacharya's students.
  • Dronacharya wants Ekalaivan's thumb as  his gurudhakshana.
  • Archery is impossible and impractical without thumb and he gave his own archery interest to his Guru.

Unlimited chance to eat anything...What could it be ?
  • Situations were someone  throws impossible situation with us.
  • Like to eat those words...words should be impossible ( Metaphorically addressed )
TT Speaker #10 TM Rajesh 
Adventurous action or heroic actions in life.
  • For humorous contest, when he gave a humorous speech, no one laughed.
  • But when he gave a serious speech in a normal meeting, the hall was filled with laughter.
  • So, he feels that this is a heroic thing which he did in his life.
TT Speaker #11 TM Vijay 
If given a chance to play and represent a country, which game you would choose?
  • From his childhood days, he would like to become a Chess player.
  • Playing chess and cards is a mind game.
  • By playing these analytical games , algorithm became easy for him duing his college days.
TT Speaker #12 Guest Kashav
Unforgettable Diwali
  • Childhood days together celebrated and bursted crackers.
  • Traditional lunch , rest and rockets in the evening  with friends and cousins makes Diwali special to him.



 11:35A.M –EVALUATION SESSION

Evaluator #1: TM Selvan
   Speaker - TM Faisal
The highlights of TM Selvan’s evaluation are:
  • Good selection of Topic.
  • Included humor in the speech which is the highlight of the speech.
Suggestion :
  • Lack of confident 
  • Try to reduce the usage of paper for reference.

Evaluator #2: TM Rajesh
   Speaker - TM Barthi
The highlights of TM Rajesh’s evaluation are:
  • Necessity is the mother of invention...every line of her speech echoed it.
  • Perfect beginning by asking a question.
  • Body of the speech was well carved.
  • Eye contact, hand gesture and persuative speech.
Suggestion :
  • Main point and sub point was confusing.
  • Conclusion was abrupt.

  Evaluator #3: TM Vijay
 Speaker - TM Nandhini
The highlights of TM Vijays’s evaluation are:
  • Effective leader and effective communicator.
  • A powerful speech and good vocal variety was observed.
  • Confident level was at peak and a born communicator.
Suggestion :
  • Cut down the series of anecdotes.
  • Need to work on dramatizing the speech.
  • Stage movement was oscillatory.


TM Sowmya, TM Shriram and TM Anuj  were called to share the Timer, Ah-Counter and grammarian report for the session respectively.

11:55A.M –GENERAL EVALUATOR'S REPORT

TM Sidharth, General evaluatorthen shared the overall feedback of the session.
  • Meeting started on time.
  • Competition among role players was healthy .
  • Innovative and motivative presidential address.
  • TMOD took pains to collect personal information and connected with the theme and the information was versatile.
  • TT - Topics were specific to each people  and gave evaluation for each speaker which is an history.
  • Hall was neatly arranged.
Improvement:
  • Theme of the day and Word of the day can be used more.
