10:00 A.M - SAA CALLS FOR MEETING

SAA, TM Faisal, opened the meeting, explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters. TM Faisal then handed over the control to the Presiding officer TM Shriram.
Presiding officer,TM Shriram started the meeting #232.

10:15 A.M - PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD

Presiding officer, TM  Shriram introduced the TMOD; TM Vijay. TM  Vijay introduced the word 'Status Quo’ and the theme of the day 'Why not?'. TM Vijay  then explained the various segments in a toastmasters meeting. 

Word of the day: Status Quo
Meaning: The existing state of affairs, especially regarding social or public issues.
Theme of the day: Why not?

10:20 A.M - GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION

The TMOD, TM Vijay, then handed over the control to the General Evaluator, TM Barthi. She told that this meeting with her as general evaluator will have constructive criticism which will make us a better speaker. She then requested the TAG team, to brief the objectives of their roles.

'My first trip out of Andra'

Tm srikar started his speech by explaining  his experience as to how he travelled first time out of his native state i.e Andhra and reached Pondicherry. In Pondicherry he visited rock beach, Aurbindo Aashram , Mahabalipuram and back to Chennai. He also mentioned about difficulties he faced with the Tamil language while getting ticket from bus conductor on the way to Chennai. In Chennai, in express avenue mall he wished to buy a shirt ,but after seeing the price tag he backed out.

'Two sides two the coin'


DTM Saro started his speech by explaining his experience in beach where the people are spoiling the beauty of beach by littering things. On the other side his friend explained point about the point mentioning if government had educated and provided them good job they wont be doing such activities. He also explained about demonetization where daily 90 people have died standing in cues to withdraw money from banks. Since the opposition party could not find any reason for demonetization they are connecting the deaths to demonetization. At the end he concluded saying that, It is absolutely necessary for all of us to see other side of the coin.

11:00 A.M –TABLE TOPIC SESSION

An interesting Table Topic session was conducted by TM Sriram. He had a variety of topics which were enjoyed by the audience. The speakers were as follows:


  • DTM Saro-You have brilliant ideas , you wont get anywhere where you want to go
  • Tm Manoj:- Imagination is more important than knowledge
  • Tm bharthi:-You see things and say why , but I dream things and say why not
  • Tm Vijay:-Good things comes to those who wait
  • Tm Sriram:- Men do not shape destiny,destiny produces the man for an hour
  • Tm Selvan:-Hit the nail on head
  • Guest Rahul:-Your passion
  • Tm Faisal:-Follow your heart and take your brains along
  • Tm Srikar:-Suffering is a sense of success
  • Tm Ramya:-Your passion
  • Guest Ritesh:-You have to think anyway why not think big
  • Tm Anuj:-Wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction
  • Guest Ramya:-Your passion

11:55A.M –GENERAL EVALUATOR'S REPORT

TM Barthi, General evaluatorthen shared the overall feedback of the session. 

-Venue Semmozhi Poonga was attention grabbing and memorable one
-Innovative and motivative presidential address
-Tmod took pains to collect personal information and connected with the theme and information was  versatile
-Guest introduction and feedback was obtained
-Table topics session was very specific and suitable both for guest and speakers
-TAG team read the report appropriately

Improvements

-Meeting started late
-Introduction given by SAA could be improved
-Disturbance in the meeting by our own team members could have been avoided 
-Water could have  been arranged in the venue
-President could have used the gavel in the beginning and the end of the session
