10:05A.M - PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS
Presiding officer, TM Vijayaragavan opened the meeting and started describing about KABALI fever on the weekend. Many diehard fans of Rajinikanth could not get the tickets for the coveted first day first show. The reason is there is a limited number of theatres and the demand is more. Similarly, in our country population is more and opportunities are less. Most of our youth lack certain important skills, when they graduate. As per the CII survey of group of Corporate employers - 3 out of every 4 graduates do not possess the life skills that could help them to survive the job. The toastmasters movement, and CSF as a club should be proud of helping our country bridge this gap.
With this TM Vijayaragavan started the meeting #218.

'Bionic arm’
|
TM Rajesh N
|
TM Faisal started his speech by explaining about bionic arm, one of the major advancements in the medical field, lending a hand to the handless and helpless amputees. It is a human made electronic, robotic hand known as prosthetics arm. Oldest form of bionic arm was used by the Ancient Egyptians. Bionic arm is a device that substitutes a loss or a defective hand which are often lost through trauma or congenital disorder. Bionic arm consist of electrodes, electronic speed controller, micro controller and motor. This is the world’s first touch sensing prosthetic arm with a least weight and compact design. He concluded his speech by saying that let’s all put our hands together and support for the progress of bionic hands!!!!
TM Manoj started his speech by saying that he is a very strong advocate of his belief and he believed that there are two types of people living in this world. One who doesn’t bother to take any risk and the second type is the one who likes taking risk. He feels that he is a part of second type and not the lazy sparrow type. There was a lazy sparrow, which heard about a beautiful place and decided to go spend its rest of the life there. Since it is very lazy to search the path, it decided to seek the help of other animals to reach the destination. The animals agreed to help provided the sparrow offers them one of its feathers as a favour. Finally, the sparrow reached its destination but realized that it has lost most of its feathers to fly. He also narrated an example from his collage life where he had a friend who secured 96%in his 12th grade. As the days passed he became more lethargic in his academics and had around 23 arrears in his 7th semester and cleared it at once in 8th semester. He concluded saying that life is like a hare and turtle race. So we should not stop when we reach the peak, since even the slowest turtle can easily overtake us.
