The 243^rd Chennai Speaker Forum meeting kick started on 26^th Feb’17, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

Meeting started at around 10 am with a high energy!

10.00 A.M. SSA CALLS FOR MEETING.                                                             

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms ,TM Supraja , who explained the mission and vision of ToastMasters and control was handed to The President.

10.05 A.M. PRESIDENT ADDRESS.

Before declaring the meeting open, President TM Siddarth set the tone of the meeting.

10:10 A.M. – PRECIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

Presiding office TM Siddarth introduced the TMOD – TM Sowmya ,who announced the Theme and word of the day .

Theme Of The Day: Find Joy in Ordinary

Word of the day: “Nondescript”.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

TMOD introduced the General Evaluator for the meet, TM Shriram, Who explained his role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day ,as below

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The Prepared Speech segment started with TMOD calling upon the below speakers to present their prepared speech

By the end of this segment, TMOD requested the gathering to vote for the best speaker and proceeded to the next segment.

10:50 A.M. – TABLE TOPIC SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to TM Prathima, who essayed the role of Table Topics Master. A mock Table Topics Contest was held and even the topics that were given away to the contestants were of contest material. Below were some of the topics from the session-which even saw veterans like DTM Saro and TM Vivekanandan contesting

-         We cannot adjust the direction of the winds but we can adjust the sails to reach our destinations

-        River cuts through rock, not because of power, but because of persistence.

-        Men are mortals, so are ideas , ideas need action, just like how plant needs watering.

TTM TM Prathima made sure to contest in the session, DTM  Saro gave her an on  the spot topic – “Mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled”.

11:20 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations.

Take away comments from the evaluators are as below

1.      Bring Innovative conclusions for effective speech.

2.      Reading novels will help one to frame better sentences.

3.      Improve and tone vocal variety

After the evaluations of the speech segment, the control was handed back to GE.

11:30 A.M. – SPECIAL TT EVALUATION SESSION

The GE introduced the TT Evaluator of the Day – TM Siddarth, who gave away his evaluation on all the TT speeches delivered  

.

TT Evaluator suggested the below tips for all the contestants to ace the TT Contests.

-        Prevent saying “Topics is good” ,”Requesting to repeat the topic”.

-        Take 20 secs break to streamline the thoughts around the topic.

-        Try expressing personal opinions and experiences for achieving a better body language.

After the session, he later handed back the control to the GE.

11:40 A.M. – TAG TEAM & GE REPORT

GE requested the Tag role players to present their reports, which was later followed by the GE Report for the day.

The GE requested the SAA to display the clubs ribbons in a better way. He also noticed last minutes dropouts and late coming by few members , so he requested these to be corrected.

The GE handed the control back to the President, who called upon the Secretory for the M.O.M. Recap Session.

11:45 A.M. – M.O.M. RECAP SESSION

The Secretory, TM Sowmya, gave a quick recap on the previous meet and handed the control back to the President. 

11:52 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS  

President acknowledged the below winners

Best TT Speaker -  DTM Saro

Best Role Player – TM Sowmya

Best Tag Role Player- TM Kishore

11:56 A.M. – GUESTS FEEDBACK

President requested guests for their feedback on the session. Every Guest was heard and all of them had good feedback's.

12:00 P.M. – MEETING ADJOURNED

The President made announcements on membership renewal schemes – INR 4500 until March 5^th and INR 4750 beyond.

He also requested members to register for the upcoming TT contest and requested members to complete their projects in CC manual ,if pending.

The meeting was adjourned to 5^th March’17.
