MEETING ENGAGEMENT REPORT

10:00 A.M - SAA CALLS FOR MEETING

SAA, TM Shriram, opened the meeting, explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters. TM Shriram then handed over the control to the Presiding officer TM Sidharth.

Presiding officer, TM Sidharth started the meeting #229.

10:15 A.M - PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD

Presiding officer, TM Sidharth introduced the TMOD; TMVivek. TM  Vivek introduced the theme 'I'm singing in the rain’ and the word of the day ' Benign '. TM Vivek then explained the various segments in a toastmasters meeting. 

Word of the day: Benign

Meaning: Gentle and kind

Theme of the day: 'I'm singing in the rain

10:20 A.M - GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION

The TMOD, TM Vivek, then handed over the control to the General Evaluator, TM Rajesh V. He told that this meeting with him as general evaluator will have constructive criticism which will make us a better speaker. He then requested the TAG team, to brief the objectives of their roles.

10:30 A.M - PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

TM Sriram started his speech by narrating an incident that happened during diwali, 11 years ago. He was afraid to tell his mother about the incident and he hoped that she doesn’t come to know about it. During his Diwali celebrations he accidently set a hut on fire by firing a rocket without his aunt’s guidance. He was shocked on seeing the hut on fire and he went into hiding that day. On the next day morning he was so curious to know what had happened there. He went and saw the burnt hut covered with rug sacks. He was anxious to know what happened to the family inside the hut. When he came to know that nobody was hurt during the incident, he became so relieved and happy. It’s been 11years since this incident happened and his mom still have no clue about this. He concluded his speech by saying the audience when can he tell his mom about the incident.

TM Umashaker started his speech by saying that once on a full moon day, Krishna and Balarama were walking in the forest and they decided to rest in the forest for the night. A few hours passed, Krishna was sleeping sound. Balarama heard a growl at a distance, it was a terrifying sound and he could see a gigantic monster approaching him. The monster growled again, Balarama was very afraid, he trembled in fear. Every time he trembled, the monster grew double in size. Terrified by the sound, size and terrible smell of the monster Balarama screamed "Krishna! Krishna!" Woken up by the call, Krishna growled at the monster. "What do you want?" Krishna asked unafraid. The size of the monster decreased, it shrunk to half its size. "What are you doing here?" Krishna asked again and the monster shrunk again. Krishna kept questioning it expecting a reply, the monster kept shrinking every time he asked.Now the monster was just 2 inches tall, and looked cute and adorable.

He concluded by saying "Everytime we are afraid, our fears grow big, but every time we face them and question them, they become smaller and smaller."

11:00 A.M –TABLE TOPIC SESSION

An interesting Table Topic session was conducted by TM Basheer. He had a variety of topics which were enjoyed by the audience. The speakers were as follows:

Second session topics were:

• TM Umashanker - The older you are, the harder it is to lose weight, because your body and your fat have become good buddies.
• TM Sowmya - If you don't go to other men's funeral, they won't go to yours.
• TM Vivek - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
• Guest Parthasarathy - What happened in the year 2002?
• TM Rajesh V - What happened in the year 2010?
• TM Sidharth - A kid's drawing was given and asked to explain it.
• TM Suresh Babu - A kid's drawing was given and asked to explain it

 11:35A.M –EVALUATION SESSION

TM Sujith, TM Sowmya and TM Sriram were called to share the Timer, Ah-Counter and grammarian report for the session respectively.

TM Rajesh V, General evaluator, then shared the overall feedback of the session. He appreciated the good things in the meeting being the Energy and the meeting being conducted in a formal and structured manner and the meeting could have started a little early.
