Meeting No 250 - Minutes

The 250^th Meeting of Chennai Speakers Forum happened at Central Footwear Training Institute ,Guindy.

Meeting started at 10:08 am.

10:08 AM EVENT CHAIR DECLARES THE MEETING OPEN

The 250^th Meeting was declared open by the Event Chair – TM Pratima Jain, who welcomed the jam-packed hall full of Toast Masters from various clubs.

After addressing the attendees, she Introduced the emcees of the day – TM Selvan & TM Sowmya and handed them the control.

10:11 AM AGENDA BRIEFED BY EMCEES

TM Selvan & TM Sowmya briefed the special agenda and the proceedings of the 250^th meet in a unique way and announced the Theme and the word of the day

Theme – ‘Transcend’

Word of The Day – ‘Jamboree’ – Meaning Celebrations.

The emcee duo later introduced the General Evaluator for the day TM Vivekanandan and handed over the control to him.

10:15 AM GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION

The GE TM Vivekanandan introduced his team of star studded evaluators –

DTM Saravana Kumar, TM Pravin Mani, TM Raghavan Sridhar, DTM Saro Velarajan.

And introduced his tag time consisting of

Timer – TM Prasanna , Ah Counter-TM Gopalakrishnan ,Grammarian – TM Sujith Mathews.

The GE handed back the control to the emcees.

10:20 AM PREPARED SPEECH SEGMENT

The milestone meet saw nothing less than milestone speeches, we had

TM Satish Kumar embarked on his CC journey by attempting project 1 – Ice Breaker – “A Shot at Redemption”. His speech was evaluated by DTM Saravana Kumar.

TM Uma Shankar CC, restarted his CC journey with his vegetable garden (Well, that was his speech title). His speech was evaluated by TM Pravin Mani.

VPE TM Shriram Shridhar completed his CC journey along with President TM Sidharth CL by attempting the project 10. Their speeches were evaluated by TM Raghavan Sridhar and DTM Saro Velrajan, respectively.

By the end of the prepared speech segment, the emcees transitioned the audience to the special education session of the eve, which was conducted by DTM Jayan Narayanan.

10:52 AM EDUCATIONAL SESSION BY DTM JAYAN

DTM Jayan Narayanan made the educational session so much fun and seamless by recounting his experiences with the contestants.  

He recounted how he had trained the contestants who sought his guidance before participating in the District or the Area level speech contests, and how each contestant differed from each other.

The session was so intriguing that time flew unnoticed.

The emcees thanked DTM Jayan and handed the control to the event chair, who announced a snack break.

11:20 AM – BREAK

Attendees had a merry over some lip smacking hot Aloo Bun (Crispy from outside and soft from inside) and ever juicy Fruity while socializing with the fellow Toast Masters.

11:40 AM – EDUCATIONAL SESSION BY DTM SUGANTHI

TM Bharathi addressed the meet and quickly gave the control to the emcees, who introduced DTM Suganthi and welcomed her to the fore for the educational session on “Taking leadership lessons from club to corporate”.

DTM Suganthi’s educational session was very informative, she quoted examples from her life - the lessons that she learned at Toast Masters and how incorporating them at workplace had helped her achieve success in people skills.

By the end of the session, control was handed back to the emcees, who introduced the Table Topics Master and handed him the control.

11:55 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION
TM Rajesh Velpandian hosted the Table Topics Session and he called upon various members from the audience to take part in this impromptu speech session.

This session saw some interesting topics and members from various clubs participating.

The table topics session ended sooner with the interest of time and control was handed back to the emcees, who later handed back the control to the GE.

12:10 AM – EVALUATION SESSION

The much-awaited evaluation session happened swiftly with each evaluator being called upon by the GE.  The evaluators presented their reports with rapt attention from the attendees.

Later the GE read his report and the tag team reports were skipped with the interest of time.

The GE handed back the control to the emcees who thanked for their opportunity and handed back the control to the event chair.

12:25 AM – GUEST FEEDBACK AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS

The event chair requested The President of the club to address the meet and requested for Guest feedbacks.

Before announcing the winners, the chief Guests for the day – DTM Jayan & DTM Sugnathi were felicitated.

DTM Suganthi handed over the ENTHUSIASM AWARD to the President, VPE and to the first-time event chair – TM Prateema.

Later, the event chair announced the winners of the day

BEST EVALUATOR – TM Raghavan Shridhar

BEST ROLE PLAYER – TM Vivekanandan

The meeting was adjourned to 14^th May ’17 and the session ended with a cake cutting culminating the milestone meet.
