Cheerful Meet

The 254th Chennai Speaker Forum meeting was conducted on June 4^th, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

Meeting started at 10 am.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS MEETING TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms. TM Nagaraj explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters and he introduced the Presiding Officer, TM Shriram.

10.02 A.M.  PRESIDING ADDRESS.

The Presiding Officer TM Shriram addressed the gathering and declared the meeting open.

10:04 A.M.- GUEST INTRODUCTIONS.

The guests were called upon for their Introductions.  The guests of the day were Venkat, Farhan and Karthik.        

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

The Presiding officer introduced the ToastMaster of The Day – TM Anuj.

Theme Of The Day: Affirmation, Meaning – The action or process of declaring something.

Word of the day: Visualize! To reach your goal.

He later handed over the control to the General Evaluator.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

The General Evaluator for the meet was TM Archana, who explained her role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Control was handed back to the TMOD.

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The TMOD introduced the speakers and the requested the respective evaluators to read the project objectives before each speech.

The first speaker of the day was TM Thyagarajan ,attempting his project 1 from CC manual. His speech titled “Smallest Big Dream”, was a narration of his success story and how he has realised that good communication plays a vital role in future career growth.

The second speaker of the day was TM Akshay, who also was attempting his project 1 from CC manual. His speech gave a clear picture about him, a Tam-Brham kid with great ambitions and bubbling positivity.

The final speaker of the day was TM Karthikeyan. He was attempting project 5 from ACG-Special Occasion Speeches Manual – Accepting An Award. In his acceptance speech he spoke about how proud he is to have transformed to an Area Director from being a timid guy during his nascent years at ToastMasters.

11:40 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to Table Topics Master for the day ,TM Srikar.

TT session saw some fine topics and participation from all the attendees present.

By the end of the TT session, control was handed back to TMOD.

11:35 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations for all the prepared speeches.

TM Rajesh evaluated the CC1 by TM Thyagarajan . TM Akshay’s CC1 speech was evaluated by TM Uday Kiran and KT Karthikeyan’s speech was evaluated by TM Selvan.

After the evaluations were done, the control was handed back to GE.

The GE handed the control back to the TMOD. The TMOD handed back the control to the presiding officer.

11:47 A.M. – GUEST FEEDBACK

The Presiding office TM Shriram requested the guests for their feedback.

11:52 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS  

The Presiding Officer requested Area Director TM Karthikeyan Arumugam to acknowledge the below winners

12:00 P.M. – MEETING ADJOURNED

The Presiding Officer made an announcement about the upcoming Excomm Election, the election chair – TM Siddarth and the election dates – June 11^th 2017.
