Meeting No 255 - Minutes

The 255th Chennai Speaker Forum meeting was conducted on June 11^th, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

Meeting started at 10 am.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS MEETING TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms. TM Supraja. She explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters before introducing the President , TM Siddarth.

10.02 A.M.  PRESIDING ADDRESS.

The President addressed the gathering and declared the meeting open.

10:04 A.M.- GUEST INTRODUCTIONS.

The guests were called upon for their Introductions. 

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDENT INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

The President introduced the ToastMaster of The Day – TM Rajesh Velpandian.

Theme of The Day: “Nothing is impossible”

Word of The Day: “Endeavour” – A sincere attempt.

He later handed over the control to the General Evaluator.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

The General Evaluator for the meet was TM Manoj , who explained his role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Ah Counter - TM Karthick

Grammarian - TM Supraja

Control was handed back to the TMOD.

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The TMOD introduced the speakers and the requested the respective evaluators to read the project objectives before each speech.

First speaker for the meet was TM Archana attempting project 5 from ACB- Story Telling Manual – Bringing History to Life.

Following that, we had TM Selvan attempting project 1 from the same manual – The Folk Tale.

By the end of this session, the TMOD took control.

10:40 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to Table Topics Master for the day,TM Bharthi Goel.

TT Master TM Bharathi called upon the members and guests for impromptu speaking.

By the end of the TT session, control was handed back to TMOD.

11:00 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations for the prepared speeches.

TM Vivekanandhan evaluated TM Archanas Project 5 from ACB manual. TM Uma Shanker evaluated TM Selvans project 1 from the ACB manual.

After the evaluations were done, the control was handed back to GE.

11:10 A.M. – GE & TAG TEAM REPORT

GE TM Manoj requested the tag team to present their report, following which he gave his report.

The GE later handed the control back to the TMOD.TMOD handed back the control to the President.

11:20 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS  

The President acknowledged the below winners based on the audience votes

Best Speaker –  TM Archana

Best Evaluator – TM Vivekanandan

Best TT Speaker -DTM Saro  

Best Role Player – TM Rajesh Velpandian

Best Tag Role Player- TM Karthick

Later the guest feedbacks were taken into account and the President assumed the role of a Chairman for the most awaited part of the meet – Elections!

11:30 A.M. – EXCOMM ELECTIONS

The Election Chair, TM Siddarth, conducted the elections immaculately amidst a crowded room full of eager members.
