Meeting No 253 - Minutes

The 253^rd Chennai Speaker Forum meeting was conducted on May 28^th, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

Meeting started at 10 am.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS MEETING TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms. TM Nagaraj explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters and he introduced the Presiding Officer, TM Shriram.

10.02 A.M.  PRESIDING ADDRESS.

The Presiding Officer TM Shriram addressed the gathering and declared the meeting open in a brisk fashion.

10:04 A.M.- GUEST INTRODUCTIONS.

The guests were called upon for their Introductions.  The guests of the day were Gayathri,Sathya and Kayalarizhi.    

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDING OFFICER INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

The Presiding officer introduced the ToastMaster of The Day – TM Satish Kumar.

Theme Of The Day: Unequivocal , Meaning – Leaving No Doubt

Word of the day: Clarity in Chaos

He later handed over the control to the General Evaluator.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

The General Evaluator for the meet was TM Mukush Singh, who explained his role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Grammarian - TM Sowmya J

Control was handed back to the TMOD.

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The TMOD introduced the speakers and he requested the respective evaluators to read the project objectives before each speech.

TM Uday Kiran was the first speaker , he presented the project 1 from CC Manual – The Icebreaker. His speech being titled “Lets Meet” , was a great start , he spoke about his association with Toast Masters and how he is back with a bang to CSF.

Second Speaker of the day was TM Srikar, he attempted project 2 from CC Manual – Organise Your Speech. In his speech , he spoke about his first visit to Chennai and the awe and lessons that came along. The speech was titled “Journey Out Of Andhra Pradesh”.

Third Speaker was TM Selvan , he was attempting project 5 (Delivering Bad News) from ACB – Speeches by Management Manual. His speech title was – “Paradigm of Shift” .

11:40 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to Table Topics Master for the day ,TM Nagaraj.

TT session saw some fine topics and participation from all the attendees present.

By the end of the TT session, control was handed back to TMOD.

11:35 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations for all the prepared speeches.

TM Shriram evaluated TM Uday’s speech , TM Uday evaluated TM Srikars CC2 Speech and TM Manoj evaluated TM Selvan’s speech.

After the evaluations were done, the control was handed back to GE.

The GE handed the control back to the TMOD.

11:48 A.M.- TEST YOUR LISTENING SKILLS

The TMOD handed the control back to the Presiding Officer, who called upon The Clubs Secretary to conduct the test your listening skills session and also a recap of 252^nd Meets M.O.M.

11:52 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS

12:00 P.M. – MEETING ADJOURNED

The Presiding Officer made an announcement about the upcoming Excomm Election, the election chair – TM Siddarth and the election dates – June 11^th 2017.

Presiding officer asked for guest feedbacks and later the meeting was adjourned to 4^th June 2017.
