Meeting No 256 - Minutes

The 256th Chennai Speaker Forum meeting was conducted on June 18^th, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS MEETING TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms, TM Supraja. She explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters before introducing the President, TM Siddarth.

10.02 A.M.  PRESIDING ADDRESS.

The President addressed the gathering and declared the meeting open.

10:04 A.M.- GUEST INTRODUCTIONS.

The guests were called upon for their Introductions. 

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDENT INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

The President introduced the ToastMaster of The Day – TM Akshay , who introduced the theme and the word of day .

Theme of The Day: “The obstacle is the path”

Word of The Day: “Ebullience” – The quality of lively or enthusiastic.

The TMOD after due diligence , handed over the control to the General Evaluator.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

The General Evaluator for the meet was TM Gopalakrishnan , who explained his role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Ah Counter - TM Thyagarajan

Grammarian - TM Kavin

Control was handed back to the TMOD.

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The TMOD introduced the speakers and the requested the respective evaluators to read the project objectives before each speech.

We had four speakers attempting various projects from the Competent Communication Manual.

First speaker was TM Vivekanandhan , who gave his CC1 speech titled “Six Differences”, following which we had TM Saravana Kumar and TM Janani attempting their CC2 and the final prepared speaker of the meet , TM Supraja , attempted her CC4 – How to say it?.

By the end of this session, the TMOD took charge.

10:40 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to Table Topics Master for the day,TM Archana.

TT Master TM Archana called upon the members and guests for impromptu speaking.

By the end of the TT session, control was handed back to TMOD.

11:00 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations for the prepared speeches.

TM Bharathi evaluated the CC1 by TM Vivekanandhan , TM Selvan evaluated TM Saravana’s CC2 , TM Pravin Mani evaluated TM Janani’s CC2 and TM Rajesh Velpandian evaluated TM Supraja’s CC4.

After the evaluations were done, the control was handed back to GE.

11:10 A.M. – GE & TAG TEAM REPORT

GE TM Gopal requested the tag team to present their report, following which he gave his report.

The GE later handed the control back to the TMOD.TMOD handed back the control to the President.

11:25 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS  

The President requested the guests for their feedbacks and later acknowledged the below winners based on the audience votes

Best Speaker –  TM Vivekanandhan

Best Evaluator – TM Pravin Mani

Best TT Speaker -  TM Shriram

Best Role Player – TM Gopal

Best Tag Role Player- TM Satish

12:00 A.M. – MEETING ADJOURNED

The President adjourned the meeting to 25^th June 2017.
