Meeting No 257 - Minutes

The 256th Chennai Speaker Forum meeting was conducted on June 25^th, at Trust Conference Hall, Nungambakkam.

10.00 A.M. SAA CALLS MEETING TO ORDER

Meeting was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms ,who explained the mission and vision of Toastmasters before introducing the President, TM Siddarth.

10.02 A.M.  PRESIDING ADDRESS.

The President addressed the gathering and declared the meeting open.

10:04 A.M.- GUEST INTRODUCTIONS.

The guests were called upon for their Introductions. 

10:10 A.M. – PRESIDENT INTRODUCED THE TMOD.

The President introduced the ToastMaster of The Day – TM Arun Kumar , who introduced the theme and the word of day .

Theme of The Day: “Be the best version of you!”

Word of The Day: “Incisive” – Quick and direct ; clear thinking.

The TMOD later handed over the control to the General Evaluator.

10:15 A.M. – GENERAL EVALUATOR INTRODUCTION.

The General Evaluator for the meet was TM Supraja , who explained her role and in turn announced the TAG Role Players of the day, as below

Timer – TM Venkat

Ah Counter - TM Karthik

Grammarian - TM Satish

Control was handed back to the TMOD.

10:20 A.M. – PREPARED SPEECH SESSION

The TMOD introduced the speakers and the requested the respective evaluators to read the project objectives before each speech.

We had four prepared speakers for the day –

TM Gopal and TM Vivekanandan were attempting Project 2 from CC manual , TM Manoj was attempting his Project 4 from ACS- Entertaining Speaker Manual and TM Rajen Menon was attempting Project 10 from ACG- Interpretive Reading Manual.

By the end of this session, the TMOD took charge.

10:40 AM – TABLE TOPICS SESSION

TMOD handed over the control to Table Topics Master for the day,TM Thiyagarajan. He called upon the members and guests for impromptu speaking on fine topics.

By the end of the TT session, control was handed back to TMOD.

11:00 A.M. – EVALUATION SESSION

The General Evaluator was called upon by the TMOD for an evaluation session. The GE and his team of evaluators presented their evaluations for the prepared speeches.

TM Shriram evaluated TM Gopals CC2 and TM Siddarth evaluated TM Vivekanandhans CC2 speech.TM Rajesh evaluated TM Manojs speech and TM Selvan evaluated TM Rajen Menons speech.

After the evaluations were done, the control was handed back to GE.

11:10 A.M. – GE & TAG TEAM REPORT

GE TM Gopal requested the tag team to present their report, following which she gave her report.

The GE later handed the control back to the TMOD. The TMOD handed back the control to the President.

11:25 A.M. – ANNOUNCEMENTS OF WINNERS  

The President requested the guests for their feedback and later acknowledged winners based on the audience votes.

12:00 A.M. – MEETING ADJOURNED

The President adjourned the meeting to 2^nd July 2017.
